![]() ![]() When Zeus states she has a deep bosom, Hermes was shocked to hear him say that about her. Because she didn't inherit godlike powers, Hermes took it upon himself to give his Mother the best life possible and expresses that she's a beautiful woman who deserves good things. Although is not much known about their relationship, Hermes states he only cares for three things: his Mother, making money, and annoying Apollo. Although he did this because of his friendship with Persephone, Hermes was also bribed by Demeter with a large sum of money to keep quiet about the whole incident. Hermes brought the shades into the Underworld, hid them, and then slowly brought them out over a period of months to effectively hide the entire thing from Hades. After assisting Demeter in calming Persephone down, Hermes would later assist her in covering the entire thing up. Sensing that something was wrong, Hermes followed the trail of death and found Persephone after her act of wrath. One day while collecting souls in the Mortal Realm, Hermes noticed a large amount of shades beyond what was on his list. Hermes would later become a client of Hades to aid in collecting souls to bring to the Underworld. Over the years the two would continue their friendship, with Hermes supplying Kore with "contraband." The two would also continue to skinny-dip together, although this was kept a secret from Demeter, who forbid Persephone from interacting with men. Demeter begrudgingly allowed Kore to receive the gift, having the two "meet." ![]() Hermes quickly appeased her by flattering her and explaining he couldn't help but bring Kore gifts. Demeter quickly saw through this ruse and realized that Hermes had seen Kore. In order to visit her without Demeter knowing, Hermes pretended to ask if she knew anyone who wanted an encyclopedia, as Athena had ordered doubles. After Kore agreed it was scandalous of him, Hermes reluctantly asked what she wanted from him. ![]() After slyly revealing her identity, Hermes realized he had not just misunderstood her station, but had trespassed on Demeter's property and interrupted her only daughter while she was bathing. Noticing her in the shadows of the pool watching him, he called her out on staring, mistaking her for a flower nymph. After being told by Demeter that he smelt awful, Hermes decided to take a quick bath before returning to Olympus. ![]() He eventually became acquainted with her daughter Persephone, at the time known as Kore. He is also shown to occasionally be self-conscious, such as when he was working a long day and stunk so badly that Demeter and others were repulsed by him.Īs an acquaintance of Demeter, Hermes frequently delivered mail to her farm. Despite his mischievous personality and tendency to fool around, Hermes can become serious when the matter demands it, briefly threatening Thanatos when he inquired about Persephone's name change one too many times.Īlthough he often plays the role of a "dumb jock", Hermes is actually incredibly perceptive, able to determine the motivations and feelings of others with ease. He is incredibly sweet and friendly towards Persephone, who he has known for many years. He enjoys teasing his friends and is always up for a good time. Out of all the Gods, Hermes is the most playful and cheeky. He is often seen wearing winged sneakers.Īfter being put on house arrest, he briefly sported a black mustache. On Olympus, Hermes wears casual clothing, including sweatshirts, t-shirts, and workout shorts. While working in the Underworld, he wears a black suit. Occasionally he is seen holding his trademark staff, a caduceus. In the Mortal Realm, Hermes wears an off-white toga with winged sandals and a winged headpiece. He frequently wears it in a ponytail, or else pulled back from his face with a sweatband. Hermes is a God with scarlet red skin, matching hair and yellow eyes. ![]()
